Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for Traffic Sign Recognition
The Advanced Driver Assistance System is based on a stereo camera, which is mounted on the inside and center of the windshield.
d.stream developed a complete software framework for the DM8148 multicore processor from Texas Instruments with the SYS/BIOS real-time operating system.
The framework enables the customer to integrate their algorithms on the desired cores.
This included the entire video pipeline, system software and the interface for connecting the vision algorithm. The following work was carried out:
- Commissioning and testing of the customer hardware
- Design of the software system design
- Setting up the software project for all cores in Code Composer Studio
- Setting up and configuring the RTOS for all active cores
- IPC communication between the cores
- Peripheral drivers
- Configuration of the DDR2 memory and the memory map
- Configuration of the image sensors
- Video acquisition and frame buffer handling
- Distribution of sensor frames to defined cores and functions
- Bootloader
- Firmware update via a PC application
