TETRA vocoder for digital public safety radio
Creation of a requirements specification for the optimization of an existing TETRA vocoder software used in a digital trunked radio handset.
This involves assembler sources that were ported from a TI-DSP C54xx to a TI-DSP C5510.
This porting was originally not fully implemented and was still faulty.
Subsequent commissioning of d.stream and implementation of the optimization of the assembler sources according to the requirements specification:
- Review of the source (assembler and C code)
- Setting up a test procedure with reference data from ETSI
- Porting the assembler source to the C5510 DSP
- Porting the C source into assembler for better runtime
- The reference test ensured that the TETRA vocoder continues to encode bit-accurately according to the ETSI standard after changes to the sources
